Amy James, MD, Joins Unity as New Medical Director

Green Bay, Wis. – Unity Hospice is pleased to announce and welcome Dr. Amy James, MD, as the new Medical Director. As Medical Director, Dr. James will be responsible for the review and certification of patient referrals to Unity’s hospice and palliative care programs as well as the oversight of patients’ medical care and treatment plans.

Amy James, MD

Dr. James joins Unity with nearly 20 years of combined experience in hospice and palliative care and internal medicine. She most recently served as Palliative Care Director for Bellin Health where she developed and grew their palliative care program. She is internal medicine trained and board certified in hospice and palliative care. During the past 14 years, Dr. James has been engaged with Unity is several ways including serving on Unity’s Management Committee (Board of Directors), providing physician coverage for Unity’s Medical Team during interdisciplinary team meetings, assisting with Medical Team calls and supporting and sharing Unity’s mission.

About Amy James, MD
Dr. James received her bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and earned her medical degree from The Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. She completed her internship and residency at the University of Tennessee. Dr. James currently holds two University appointments with UW Madison, School of Medicine, Adjunct Faculty Department of Medicine and The Medical College of Wisconsin, Green Bay, Volunteer Faculty. Dr. James and her husband, Alan, live in Green Bay and have 2 teenage children.
