The Season of Giving
The holiday season is often referred to as the season of giving. However, the past few years have been particularly challenging for many of us. Though monetary donations are crucial to Unity Hospice in being able to continue providing end-of-life care in this community, there are a variety of other ways that you can give to the organization.
In 2017, Unity Hospice opened Unity Resale Shoppe, LLC. We opened the shoppe for two reasons – (1) to provide a meaningful place for donors to give their previously cherished items, and (2) to raise funds for Unity’s CommUnity Care, a fund maintained to ensure all who need end-of-life care are able to receive it. Giving your gently used donations to Unity Resale Shoppe, LLC is a great way to support Unity Hospice, while cleaning out your home while you do it! The gift of time is truly invaluable. Unity Hospice has various opportunities available for anyone in the community to support our organization! Volunteers staff Unity Resale Shoppe, LLC, sit vigil with patients during their final days, assist with special events & fundraisers throughout the year, and so much more! Not only will you be giving your time to Unity Hospice, but you are likely to have rewarding experiences and make some new friends in the process. One of the easiest – and most helpful! – ways you can help support Unity Hospice is by spreading the word! Whether you have had a peaceful experience with our hospice & grief services, or you are an avid shopper at Unity Resale Shoppe, telling your family & friends about us is always appreciated. Consider leaving us a positive review on Google, sharing our Facebook posts, or simply talking about us at church – there truly are no limits to word-of-mouth!
Monetary donations do not necessarily have to come directly out of your own pocket! Consider hosting a simple fundraiser on Facebook asking for the support of your family & friends, consider asking for donations in lieu of birthday gifts next year, or host a bake sale at church to raise funds that way instead. Hosting your own fundraiser is a fun way to put your own spin on supporting Unity Hospice.
